Welcome to my site. A few things I would like to tell you about myself.
I grew up in the 60’s on a hill farm in Northern England. Not really a Hippie but I did like to wear my hair long.
The hill farm taught me how to imagine.
I have a wife, and three children. 42, 22 and 22. Yes I know there is quite an age difference
I am a story teller by nature. I have even been accused of talking too much. So writing has come easily.
I am an engineer that grew into somewhat of a big little shot. Depending on who you talk to I’m good, not so good and just plain incompetent. So I am used to having people love and hate me. If I sound like you, guess what? I’m human.
As an engineer and big little shot in the oil bidness (I live in Texas now) , I spent years flying around the world reading everything Clancy, Lescroats, Sanford, Patterson, Grisham and many others, could put out…
And then I was flying to Japan one day and said… I can do this.
Writing is not something I had thought I would like to do. Writing is easy. Writing so that someone else can follow your thought processes is very difficult.
I hope you enjoy my imagination
If you do, please send me an email to jsteel@jonathansteel.me and tell me and please tell ALL your friends.

Lost Identity
Lost Identity is the first, in a three books series. It is the story of three people, Michael Pawlowskie, Makika Walsh and Makiala Johnson. Makika and Makiala are twins. They grew up very differently than Michael, and are from a very different generation. Michael is in his early 60’s and the twins in their middle to late twenties. Their past’s and their future make them co-dependant upon each other.
Michael spent 20 years in the FBI and 15 more as a security specialist in a large company.
The twins grew up rich, the adopted daughters of a St. Louis Businessman and his wife. They come to play an integral part in each others lives after the collapse of the ENCON Corporation. They had both lost something in life. Michael his life savings, the twins, life’s innocence. Together they would work to heal their losses. Along the way Michael has to cross the line between good and evil, right and wrong, and the twins have to make sure that the strong arm of the law doesn’t cramp their lifestyle. Michael makes new friends who are both rich and powerful; before the book ends he will become one of the rich and powerful. If, he can keep the twins from ruining it all.
Lost Identity will make you ask, “what would I do.” It will make you hate the good guys and love the bad guys and hate the bad guys and love the good guys. If you can just decide which is which. Lost Identity will make you question many decisions you have made in your life and think about all those you still have to make.
In the end, good and evil survive and good and evil die. You are left to decide who is good and who is evil.
There are no winners and no losers in this book, but even that statement can be contradicted. It’s hard to tell who is right and who is wrong. You will be left asking, who am I? What would I have done? What would I do?
Last but not least Lost Identity is good entertainment. You can identify with everyone and no one. It is the guessing game that makes it such fun

The Senator
The Senator is the second, in the three books series. It continues the story of, Michael Pawlowskie, Makika Walsh
and Makiala Johnson from Lost Identity. Michael has handed control of Lost Identity over to Makika Walsh, since becoming a Senator and heading of to Washington to represent the people of the state of Texas.
In Washington he continues the work he started at Lost Identity from a political perspective and introduces a bill to Congress called the VOCA (Victims of Corporate Abuse) Act. He made enemies in corporate America while at VOCA, now he makes more enemies, this time both in and outside of Washington. So does Makika Walsh, she and her sister an FBI Agent in Houston, continue to both collect money for VOCA and exert revenge for the their childhood.
Professionals are hired to make sure the work of Makika and Michael come to an end. To add to the complication Makika and Makiala hire their own professional to help in their efforts. Pretty soon Makiala has to hide from the FBI what she discovers until the time is right so that she can carry out her own investigation on who it is that is trying to kill her sister.
All the while, Michael is trying to push his VOCA Act through the Congress, just as in the private world, he finds himself having to trade who he his and what he is, for what he wants. He realizes that everything in Washington is achieved through coercion and blackmail, so, to get what he wants he has to walk the walk. After all, when you are Rome you must do as the Roman’s do.
Like Lost Identity, The Senator will leave you asking “What would I do?” And like Lost Identity, The Senator is great entertainment. And again, you can identify with everyone and no one.
